I live in a district called Bur Dubai located near the Dubai Creek. Bur Dubai is a tightly packed residential area also filled with some historic sites and markets. I live at the Savoy Crest, one of the many many many hotel-apartment style buildings in this area known as Al Mankhool. It is somewhat of a concrete jungle of 10-story buildings with names like: the Silver Sands 1-3, the London Crown 1-3, and the most popular, the Golden Sands, which has 11 separate buildings scattered about. To get to this area, its easy to just tell a cabbie to go to the Golden Sands apartments area.
I live within a 10 minute walk to work. The Standard Chartered building is on Al Mankhool Road and is a well-known reference point in the area.
